FREQUENTLY ASKED
Clear answers to the most common questions about our services.
We recommend booking at least 24 hours before your journey. For peak travel periods, large vehicles, or multiple-car coordination, 48 hours is preferable. Same-day bookings are accepted subject to availability. Contact us directly by phone or WhatsApp for urgent requests.
You can change your booking before pickup. More than 24 hours ahead, every detail can be changed; between 6 and 24 hours, times and passenger details can still be updated; within 6 hours, passenger details only. On price, an equivalent trip keeps the same price, a longer trip or a larger vehicle costs only the difference, and a shorter or smaller trip keeps the same price (no refund of the difference). For cancellations: a full refund applies more than 48 hours before pickup, a 50% refund between 24 and 48 hours before pickup, and no refund within 24 hours of pickup. See our service policy for the full modification and cancellation terms.
We accept all major credit and debit cards online through our secure Stripe integration. Cash or invoice payment is reserved for corporate accounts and phone bookings. We do not accept cheques. All transactions are encrypted and PCI-compliant.
Yes. Same-day bookings are available subject to vehicle availability. For urgent same-day requests, we recommend calling or messaging us on WhatsApp at +33 6 70 03 18 18 rather than using the online form, to confirm availability in real time.
No account is required. You can complete a booking in under 2 minutes by entering your journey details, passenger information, and payment. After booking, you receive a confirmation by email with your booking reference.
Yes. You can book both your outbound and return journeys in a single session. Each leg is confirmed separately with its own pick-up time and price. For CDG airport transfers or Orly transfers, the return pick-up time is automatically adjusted based on your departure flight.
Yes. Your chauffeur tracks your flight from the moment it departs. If your arrival is delayed or early, the pick-up time adjusts automatically. Sixty minutes of complimentary waiting time are included on every CDG airport transfer, Orly airport transfer, and Le Bourget transfer, with no extra charge for delays.
Your chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall of your terminal, holding a personalised name sign. You receive a message with their exact location and phone number shortly before landing. For CDG, your chauffeur is sent to the correct terminal based on your flight details, so you do not need to specify it.
We cover all Paris airports: Charles de Gaulle (CDG), all terminals; Orly (ORY), all four zones; and Le Bourget (LBG), all FBOs. Transfers to Beauvais–Tillé (BVA) are also available on request.
If your flight is cancelled, contact us as soon as possible. If we are notified more than 12 hours before the scheduled pick-up, a full refund is issued. Within 12 hours, we work with you to rebook for the next available flight at no extra charge. We monitor flight status continuously and will contact you proactively if we detect a cancellation.
Every airport transfer includes 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time, counted from your actual landing time (not the scheduled time). This covers passport control, baggage claim, and customs. If you need more time, additional waiting is billed at the standard hourly rate, about €19 per 15 minutes in E-Class, in line with leading chauffeur services.
Yes. For groups up to 7 passengers, our Mercedes V-Class handles the journey in one vehicle. For larger groups, we coordinate multiple vehicles arriving simultaneously. See our group transport service for coordinated multi-vehicle bookings.
Yes. You can combine an airport pickup with hourly hire: your chauffeur greets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign, tracks your flight, and then stays at your disposal for the hours you reserve. The price is the airport transfer plus your hourly time (3-hour minimum), shown in full before you pay. See our service policy for how the two combine.
Your price is locked the moment you book. There is no live ride-hail surge and no dynamic pricing, so once booked the amount never moves with traffic or flight delays. Rates do vary by date and time (nights, public holidays and major Paris events cost more), but that supplement is always shown upfront in the quote, before you pay, never added at the end of the journey.
Yes. All motorway tolls, airport access fees, and parking charges are included in the quoted price. Nothing is added at the end of the journey. This is one of the key differences between PrivateDrive and metered taxis, where tolls are charged on top of the meter.
A private transfer from CDG to central Paris costs from €105 in a Mercedes E-Class sedan (up to 3 passengers), €165 in an S-Class premium sedan, or €140 in a Mercedes V-Class van (up to 7 passengers). All prices are locked at booking and include meet & greet, 60 minutes free wait, and flight monitoring.
Yes. An invoice (facture) in PDF format is automatically generated and sent to your email address after your journey is complete. If you need it earlier, or require a custom invoice for corporate accounting, contact us and we will issue it within 24 hours.
Your quote is all-inclusive and final: tolls, parking, meet & greet and waiting time are already in the price, and nothing is added at the end of the ride. Timing does affect the rate, though. Night journeys (21:00 to 06:00), high season (June to September) and public holidays are priced higher, and that rate is always shown upfront when you book. Unlike ride-hail apps, there is no live surge: the price you confirm is the price you pay.
Rates vary by date and time. A supplement applies at night, in high season, on French public holidays, and during major Paris events such as Fashion Week and large trade shows, when chauffeurs are in high demand. That supplement is always shown upfront in your quote, before you pay, and never added at the end. There is no live ride-hail surge: once booked, your price is locked. See our service policy for the exact supplements that apply.
Within Paris and the Île-de-France region, transfers use fixed all-inclusive rates. Beyond the region, the fare is calculated per kilometre by vehicle class, with a guaranteed amount confirmed before you book. Very long journeys include the driver’s return, and trips over 400 km add a driver overnight. See our service policy for the per-kilometre rates and distance thresholds.
Our fleet consists of Mercedes E-Class sedans (up to 3 passengers), Mercedes S-Class premium sedans (ideal for business or VIP travel), and Mercedes V-Class vans (up to 7 passengers). All vehicles are under three years old. See our full fleet page for photos and specifications.
Yes. Infant carriers (0–13 kg), child seats (9–18 kg), and booster seats (15–36 kg) are available at no extra cost. Simply indicate your child's age and weight when booking and the correct seat will be installed before your arrival.

Yes. All PrivateDrive chauffeurs are fluent in English and French. Many of our clients are international travellers, and our drivers are trained to provide discreet, professional service in both languages. Additional language requests (Spanish, Arabic, etc.) can be accommodated with advance notice.
The Mercedes E-Class accommodates 3 standard suitcases (or 2 large + 1 cabin bag). The Mercedes V-Class accommodates up to 7 bags. If you have oversized luggage (golf bags, ski equipment, strollers), please specify when booking so we can assign the right vehicle.
Yes. All our drivers hold a professional VTC (Voiture de Tourisme avec Chauffeur) licence issued by the French transport authority. They are fully insured, background-checked, and trained in premium client service. PrivateDrive is a registered VTC operator in France.
With hourly chauffeur hire, your chauffeur and vehicle are reserved exclusively for you as one continuous block, starting at your pick-up time. The hours run without interruption: if you stop for lunch, a meeting, or shopping, your chauffeur stays with the vehicle on standby and that time is part of your booking. Hourly hire is available from a 3-hour minimum, from €75 per hour in E-Class. A 15-minute grace period applies, after which each hour started beyond your reserved time is billed at the hourly rate. See our service policy for the full terms.
No. An hourly booking is a single continuous window from your start time, so it cannot be divided into a separate daytime block and a separate evening block. Any pauses in between are counted as part of the block, with your chauffeur on standby throughout. If you genuinely need two separate periods, for example a few hours in the morning and a few hours at night, book two separate hourly services, each priced on its own duration.
Every airport transfer includes 60 minutes of complimentary waiting, counted from your actual landing time. Train station and standard address pickups include 15 minutes. Hourly hire includes a 15-minute grace period. Beyond the included time, waiting is billed at the standard hourly rate. See our service policy for the full waiting terms.
Your chauffeur waits beyond the scheduled time before a no-show is recorded: 30 minutes for a standard address, and 60 minutes at an airport or train station. If you are running late, a quick message to your chauffeur or our team keeps everything on track. See our service policy for the no-show terms.
We offer private day trips to Versailles (from €450), the Loire Valley (from €1,200), Champagne (from €1,000), Normandy (from €1,300), and Giverny (from €750). All itineraries are customisable.
Your chauffeur collects you from your Paris address at the agreed time, drives you to your destination, and remains at your disposal throughout the day. You decide the pace, the stops, and the return time. There is no fixed itinerary and no rushing to keep up with a group. The price is locked at booking and includes all waiting time.
Yes. Day trip routes are entirely flexible. If you want to combine Versailles with a lunch stop in the Chevreuse Valley, or visit two châteaux in the Loire, simply mention your preferences when booking. Your chauffeur will suggest the best routing and timing based on experience.
Entrance tickets are not included in the transfer price: your chauffeur provides transport and on-the-ground guidance, but tickets are purchased independently. We recommend booking tickets in advance, especially for Versailles and Monet's gardens at Giverny, which can sell out weeks ahead.
Yes. Our Paris city tour by private car is available from €75 per hour, with a 3-hour minimum (from €225). You choose the route (the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre, the Marais, the Seine), and your chauffeur adapts in real time. Ideal for first-time visitors or those who want to rediscover Paris at their own pace.
