CDG Terminal 1 vs Terminal 2: Transfer Guide

Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at Charles de Gaulle are separate buildings, linked in about 8 minutes by the free CDGVAL train, the travel time RATP gives for the line, and your latest flight information, not the airline's name, tells you which one you land at. From 16 March 2027, CDG terminals are renumbered 1 to 7: Terminal 1 keeps its name, T3 becomes Terminal 2, 2A and 2C become Terminal 3, 2B and 2D become Terminal 4, and 2E, 2F and 2G become Terminals 5, 6 and 7, so follow the name printed on your ticket.

Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3

Terminal 1 is a separate building. Terminal 2 is a complex of lettered terminals, including 2E, 2F and 2G. Terminal 3 is another arrival point; it can also be served by a booked chauffeur. Do not change terminals just because a guide describes another pickup as more common.

Do not confuse 2E gates with a public meeting point

Air France distinguishes the K, L and M halls at Terminal 2E. A gate or airside lounge location is not the place where an outside chauffeur can meet you. Collect your bags, complete the required checks and follow the agreed public arrivals instruction.

There is no universal door number for every PrivateDrive arrival. Use the message for your own journey. If you cannot find the chauffeur, stay in a safe public area and call the direct contact rather than walking to a different hall.

Terminal 2G needs its own plan

Air France's Train + Air instructions describe the free N2 shuttle between 2F and 2G for that connection. That does not mean an arriving passenger must take it to meet a chauffeur: confirm a pickup at your actual terminal.

Keep a flight connection and a pickup into Paris separate. An airside connection can involve different checks and routes from a landside transfer. Your airline determines whether your connection is feasible; a chauffeur booking cannot replace its minimum connection requirements.

Check the flight, not a permanent airline list

Terminals can change. A table assigning every airline to one building can send you to the wrong place. Read the latest airline or airport information for your flight, then send any change to the chauffeur. The flight number helps identify the arrival, while the date matters for overnight journeys and flights with the same number on successive days.

Waiting after landing

A touchdown time is not the time you reach the car. Border checks, baggage delivery, mobility assistance and the walk to arrivals vary. For a night arrival, check the current shuttle and public-transport schedule. Do not rely on a universal “last train” time from an old article. A booked car offers a planned pickup, and any late change should be coordinated through the booking contact.

• Use the full terminal designation when it is available.
• Count passengers, large bags and requested child seats.
