Stade de France on Match Night: Getting There and Back

By PrivateDrive

Key takeaway

Stade de France by RER B, RER D, metro 13 or 14, the car park that must be booked ahead, and a driver by the hour: why a match night takes 5 to 6 hours.

On a match night, Stade de France is reached by four rail lines, a car park that only admits pre-booked vehicles, or a driver by the hour. The RER B and RER D stop 10 to 15 minutes’ walk from the gates, metro 13 about 10 minutes away, metro 14 about 20. A driver is the door-to-door option, but book 5 to 6 hours for an evening, €425 to €510 in an E-Class: three hours do not cover the drive out, the match and the way back.

The four lines, and the gate each one leads to

Walking times and gates are those published by Seine-Saint-Denis Tourism, which also lists tram T8 to Saint-Denis Porte de Paris, 10 minutes on foot. For the metro and the RER, buy a Métro-Train-RER ticket, €2.55 in 2026.

The way back is the hard part

On match and concert nights, RATP adds trains on metro 13 and 14 and on the RER B and D, according to Seine-Saint-Denis Tourism, and the whole crowd still leaves at once. The same source warns of major works on the RER B and D in 2026: for the September 2026 concerts, the RER D closed at 10:30 pm, with no train after the show. When one RER is disrupted, it points to metro 13, metro 14 or the other RER. Check the last departures on the RATP and Transilien sites on the day. After that, the N44 night bus runs from 0:30 to 5:30 am, every 20 to 30 minutes, from the Pont du Canal stop towards Gare de l’Est.

Parking: booked in advance, or not at all

The stadium runs three underground car parks, P1, P2 and P3. Its event-day parking page sets the rule: only vehicles with an access ticket booked in advance may enter. Spaces sell online from €29, with prices that vary by event; the car parks open at 8 am and stay open until 2 hours after the end. Spaces for people with reduced mobility are limited and must be booked in advance too. On event days a security perimeter closes the streets nearest the stadium, and some bus stops are not served.

A driver by the hour: count 5 to 6 hours

An evening at the stadium is not a 3-hour booking. Count the drive from central Paris, an arrival well before kick-off to clear the security checks, about 2 hours for a football match with half-time, then the walk out and the traffic leaving Saint-Denis. Most evenings come to 5 or 6 hours: €425 or €510 in an E-Class (3 passengers, 2 suitcases), €500 for 5 hours in a V-Class for up to 7 passengers. Saint-Denis lies inside our hourly-hire area, so no exit supplement applies.

The driver drops you as close to your gate as the perimeter allows, then waits at a meeting point agreed in advance, outside the closed streets. One message when you leave your seat, and you meet there instead of queuing for a platform. If the match runs long, a 15-minute tolerance applies past the booked time; after that, each hour started is billed at €105 in an E-Class, more than the hour booked in advance. Book the hours you expect to use. A pickup between 9 pm and 6 am adds 10%. Our 2026 private driver price grid sets out every rate, and the E-Class or V-Class comparison helps size the car.

The same logic, a car held rather than booked ride by ride, runs our Roland-Garros timing guide and the Fashion Week logistics playbook. Beyond 7 people, see group transport.

The stadium’s calendar lists the NFL Paris Game, Pittsburgh Steelers against New Orleans Saints, on Sunday 25 October 2026, then France against South Africa on Friday 13 November and France against Argentina on Saturday 21 November.

Two questions before the match

How do I get from the airport to the stadium?

From CDG, the RER B reaches La Plaine Stade de France in about 30 minutes from CDG 1, then 15 minutes on foot. From Orly, metro 14 runs to Saint-Denis Pleyel in about 40 minutes without a change. With luggage, a driver can collect you at the airport and keep your bags in the car during the match.

What if the match goes to extra time?

The driver keeps waiting. The 15 minutes of tolerance are included, then each hour started beyond the booking is billed at €105 in an E-Class. If extra time or penalties are likely, booking one more hour costs less.
